Richard was born in 1950, was converted at the Billy Graham Crusade in April 1968 and started attending South Cronulla Congregational Church. He started his intermittent preaching career in Januray 1969; his first was at Miranda Congregational Church where he met Lesley. They married in 1973 and commenced a breeding program which stopped after 3 children. Their kids are all grown up, married and active in their local churches. Richard and Lesley have 3 granddaughters and one grandson. They became Anglicans after leaving Sydney in 2002.

Richard says, "We came to St. Peter's because it seemed to be small enough to enable us to find some useful things to do. I think we both feel more at home here than we have at any church in a long time. We love the people at St. Peter's and are planning on sticking around for quite a while. You have been warned."
