Grahame and Patty are establishing a ministry in Chile and Latin America.
For many years we have prayed for Grahame and Patty Scarratt and their Bible teaching ministry in South America. They have visited St. Peter's on a number of occasions to give us a closer understanding of their work which began in Chile and, with the co-operation of Moore Theological College and the Church Missionary Society (CMS), is now expanding to other countries in South America.
That work began some years ago when the Scarratts went as missionaries to Chile under the banner of the South American Missionary Society (SAMS). The support base of SAMS declined to the point where Grahame and Patty were no longer able to be supported and, with the help of folk in St. Peter's Shoalhaven Heads and many other churches and individuals, they returned to Chile to continue the work they had begun. Other ministries previously under SAMS have since been taken over by the CMS. Advancing years heralding the approach of retirement and consideration of serious health problems suffered by Patty caused the Scarratts to return to their home in Kiama but such is their love for God and commitment to the work that they continue to direct the work via the internet and regular trips to the countries touched by their ministry. Their field of influence has spread from Chile to Mexico, Argentina and Cuba, and most recently there have been requests from Bolivia.
